Arsenal Alum in PARADE Magazine
Be sure to get a look at this past weekend's Parade section of your newspaper.

Our very own Amber Brooks has been named the number 1 HS Player of the
Year in the country. For those who do not know, Amber played on the Arsenal
U18 girls team for the past four years. She helped her Arsenal team win a
number of State and Regional Championships. Amber was also on the U17 U.S.
National team that took second place in this years first ever U17 World Cup in
New Zealand this past fall.

Interesting pipeline as Amber is headed to UNC and will fill a void
created by the graduation of another Arsenal alumni, Yael Averbuch. Yael was
also a Parade All American in HS. She set the UNC school record with 105
starts, set the NCAA record for the fastest goal scored; 4 seconds into a game
and was an Academic All American at UNC. She has since moved on to the pro
ranks as the number one draft choice of Sky Blue FC and the number three
pick in the league overall.

I know I speak for everyone in saying how proud we are of Amber's
accomplishments. The Arsenal club should take pride in knowing that we helped her achieve such great frecognition by providing a competitive club where she could grow as a player.

We wish Amber all the best in her future endeavors at UNC and with the
National teams. Ambers's drive and work ethic will serve her well in every
aspect of her very bright future.

Arsenal Sponsors ACL Clinic.

In an effort to educate players, parents and coaches, we will host this clinic on ACL injury prevention. World renowned doctors and the trainer for the Red Bulls and Sky Blue will demonstrate methods and training exercises that will help prevent ACL injuries. For more details see here.

Arsenal Pre-Season Clinic

Arsenal will hold it's 4th annual pre season clinic the week of August 25-29 at Dorchester Field. All participating Arsenal teams will train together as a team. See here for more info.

All Arsenal tryouts scheduled for May 30-31st will be held at the locations originally designated.
The three groups that were rained out on May 16: U8 Girls, U8 Boys, and U13 Boys have all been rescheduled for June 4--PVHS from 6:30pm-8pm.

**Congratulations to Arsenal! ** The U18 Arsenal World Class girls team has the distinction to have placed not one..not two...but three players on the prestigious Parade All-America High School Soccer Team, one of the most recognized distinctions in high school sports. The 2008 team was released in newspapers around the country on Sunday, May 25.

They are:

** TRYOUTS **:: Interested in joining the Arsenal Soccer Club? Tryouts are being held for all teams. Tryouts will be held in two locations; Fieldstone School in Montvale, Pascack Hills HS in Montvale and Superdome in Waldwick. Any updates or changes will be posted here. Be sure to check it out!
